Christa

This is my friend Christa.

Correction…this is my SISTER Christa. I have had the absolute privilege of living and working with her for the large majority of the past year.

She left today to return home to the US.

She has been a place of safety and refuge for me over the past year. She has seen me cry, seen me angry, seen me laugh, seen me frustrated, seen me joyful, seen me depressed. And through it all has loved me nonetheless. And. In loving me nonetheless, she has helped me learn to love myself a little bit more.

Pretty incredible, right? Want to know something even MORE incredible? I am only one of the many many people here in Vietnam that have had the same experience with Christa. Talk about a legacy.

Christa spent a year here…yet her impact here has been monumental. Last night at the airport alone, there were about 20 people (pretty much all in tears) to see her off.

Just to give you a glimpse into the beauty that is Christa; the lady that she regularly would buy breakfast from cried on Christa’s last day! A language barrier runs between this lady and Christa and STILL my dear friend’s impact was deeply felt and understood.

To my sister Christa-
I love you.
You inspire me.

Might we all take a cue…and be inspired to live and love in such an overflowing, infectious manner.

Grace and peace and the third way,
Kait
